Well friends, it's officially a week away. This time next Friday, the Thorup Brothers (not to be confused with the Jonas Brothers - although we play guitar as well, just don't have the 'tween' following that they do) will be somewhere in the U.S.A., 14 or so hours on the pavement and looking to check into some sketchy hi-way motel for a few zzz's before resuming onward to the next chalk-outlined-body-in-the-parking-lot stopover before we eventually hit our destination of Moab, Utah where roads don't exist. Should be a pretty good update in a week's time.
Big brother Marc and I spoke briefly tonight as I was feeding Sean his dinner and Marc was about to have his, then head out to the Knight's playoff game in box seats. He's doing something right. Tomorrow he's heading to The Falls for the final Jeep-prep before Easter Jeep Safari, 2010. Tweaks here and there, other stuff bolted on or wired up, then we're good to go. Adventure awaits.
Thanks for all the offers for a sleeping bag. Marc said I needed one in case we got stuck on a certain trail and couldn't forge the river going back and were forced to spend the night in the middle of nowhere with great scenery and a campfire until the morning when the water dropped and we could cross and I might want to stay warm and comfortable during the process. That's what a big brother does - looks out for his little brother.
Maybe we'll bring our guitars, too. We could play some Jonas Brothers tunes. Or not.
Stay tuned. It's only just begun.
Life is good.
The Thorup Brothers.

Hi to my Bestest and of course my Favourite nephews. Steven I think you need to write a song or two about this adventure of a lifetime! This will be a great song for our campfire's as well as maybe yours on Two Brothers, One Jeep, Zero Pavement road trip. We are all very exited for you both and are waiting with much anticipation for your updates. The old guy feels very important as now he is part of the credits(ha ha ha!)when the movie is made. Give that sweet little Sean a big kiss & hug from us tomorrow on his 7th month b-day. We love you guys.
