Cliffhanger. Shotgunner. Sight seeing.

Hi folks - it's Wednesday morning and I'm at the dining room table here at the condo getting everything updated.
Marc picked up a used spare yesterday to replace the blown tire on his JK and we also have a small surface gash on another tire. With no by-passes for the obstacles on the 6 rated Cliffhanger trail, Marc decided to park the Jeep for today and ride as a shotgunner in Ralf's YJ. I weighed my options after yesterdays 700 foot cliff edge rides and decided that the 1300 foot straight drop cliff edges on today's trail would be more than panic-attack-inducing for me and I didn't want to be out in the middle of nowhere freaking out with no escape! So I chose to take the day off the trails, get the blog updated, relax a little and head into town to look around and explore and take some pics.
We'll have Marc update the blog when he gets back this afternoon (hopefully in one piece!) and he can tell the story and share the pics.
Thanks for following us along through the delays!

Life is good.

  1. Great pics! Isn't the desert beautiful? Hope Marc was able to get the tire issue sorted out today and you're all set for tomorrow's most excellent adventure!

    Warthog has been surprisingly quiet - we take it that all's well on his beast? We really hope to join in on next year's excursion, now that we've had the appetizer here. ;-}

  2. Well, hopefully by now Steve, your heart rate is down to 150 beats per minute. If I were with you, I might be sitting with you Steve. I think thats why there's an 19th hole for golf, and a chalet for skiing.
    Really stinks to hear about the tire. That has got to be a bit of a disappointment. I'll tell you what Marc, to help you out, I'll give you a raise effective first thing tomorrow, and that's no April Fools joke.
    I also wanted to mention something else that may help for the rest of the trip, when you miss a by-pass because the navigator screwed up, you are allowed to wedge him into any wide crevices or dangerous rocks to prevent damage to the JEEP. I'm sure Steve read the whole contract when he signed up with you.
    The pictures are just great. I can see why they have "holly sh_t handles" for Steve. I could write for the next three or four hours, but my break (and I used Marc's too) is up. Gotta run.
    Thanks for the info and pictures.
    Above all "ENJOY".
